</p><p>The New England Patriots (7-3) face their toughest challenge of 2009 on Monday night when they travel to New Orleans to play the undefeated Saints (10-0).  The Patriots need a signature road victory to send a message to the rest of the NFL.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object style="width: 425px; height: 350px;" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="350" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_0SeTK11lng" /><param name="align" value="top" /><embed style="width: 425px; height: 350px;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_0SeTK11lng" align="top"></embed></object></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady started 2009 slow coming off of season ending knee surgery, but has regained his pre-2008 form.  Through 10 games, Brady is amongst the league leaders in Passing Yards (<strong>3,049)</strong>, TDs (20), QB Rating (100.4).  What concerns me is Brady&#8217;s road numbers through 10 games: Passing Yards (1,114), TDs (8), QB Rating (89.6).  The number that jumps out at me is 4 of Brady&#8217;s 6 interceptions this season have come on the road.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Opposite Tom Brady, the New Orleans Saints&#8217; feature one of the NFL&#8217;s greatest leaders in quarterback <a title="Drew Brees" href="http://rbeale.com/sports/best-nfl-pre-game-huddle-routine-drew-brees-versus-ray-lewis/" target="_self">Drew Brees</a>.  Brees has equally impressive statistics through 10 games: Passing Yards (2,746), TDs (<strong>22</strong>), QB Rating (<strong>105.8</strong>). At home this season, Brees has some impressive numbers: Passing Yards (<strong>1,555</strong>), TDs (<strong>13</strong>), QB Rating (<strong>120.4</strong>).</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Brees has the QB edge at home versus Brady on the road, but this game will come down to which team can rush the ball better and which team can commit LESS turnovers.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">My Prediction:  The Patriots will win in a shootout on Monday Night Football and send a message to the rest of the NFL.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Who do you think will win and why?</p>

</p><h2>Drew Brees Versus Ray Lewis in the &#8220;Battle of the Pre-Game Huddle&#8221;</h2>
<p>Drew Brees, the 3-time NFL Pro Bowl Quarterback for the New Orleans Saints may be undersized at 6&#8217;0,&#8221; but he certainly has the respect of his teammates, coaches, and the city of New Orleans.  Watch Drew fire up the New Orleans Saints in his NFL Pre-Game Huddle routine:</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="350" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IjQSb7cCpeo" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IjQSb7cCpeo"></embed></object></p>
<p>Ray Lewis, a 10-time NFL Pro-Bowl Linebacker and the centerpiece of a stingy Ravens defense fires up the Baltimore Ravens during his Pre-Game Huddle routine:</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="350" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nTghpkNQEM0" /><param name="align" value="top" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nTghpkNQEM0" align="top"></embed></object></p>
<p>Both Brees and Lewis are fierce competitors, among the best at their positions and well respected leaders in the NFL.  If you were talented enough to play in NFL for the New Orleans Saints or Baltimore Ravens, which Pre-Game Huddle routine would you like to be in?</p>
<p>Sorry, Ray, but I would rather be a part of the New Orleans Saints and Drew Brees&#8217; Pre-Game Huddle routine.  To quote Drew Brees&#8217; 2008 pre-game huddle routine, &#8220;THIS IS NEW ORLEANS!&#8221;</p>

</p><p>Boston <a title="Boston Red Sox -MLB.com" href="http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=bos" target="_self">Red Sox </a>flame-throwing rookie <a title="Daniel Bard -MLB.com" href="http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=453268" target="_self">Daniel Bard</a> entered last night&#8217;s game in the 9th inning versus the <a title="Baltimore Orioles -MLB.com" href="http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=bal" target="_self">Baltimore Orioles </a>with a 4-0 lead.  Rather quickly, Bard got Nolan Reimold to ground out, then Luke Scott and Melvin Mora both struck out.  What impressed me most was the effortless 99 MPH fastballs and ridiculous sliders he threw to close out the game for the Red Sox 61st win of the 2009 season.</p>
<p>Consider these statistics:</p>
<ul>
<li>Bard yielded 0 Earned Runs in the month of July.</li>
<li>Opponents Batting Average over the last 14 innings pitched is .089</li>
<li>Strikeout to Walk Ratio is 27 -0</li>
</ul>
<p>Rex Sox fans who have not become acclimated to Daniel Bard, get used to hearing his name.  Drafted 28th overall (1st Round) in 2006, he is the latest among a long list of homegrown Red Sox players to make a Big League impact.</p>
